§ 2-43. Special meetings.

  • Special meetings may be held at the call of the mayor by serving notice to each member of the council not less than 24 hours before the time set for the special meetings, or special meetings may be held as provided by Code of Ala. 1975, § 11-43-50, whenever two councilmembers request in writing that the presiding officer call the meeting. Upon the failure or refusal of the presiding officer to call the meeting when requested, the two councilmembers making the request shall have the right to call the meeting and notice shall be given to each member of the council not less than 24 hours before the time set for the special meeting.
